We got picked up around 6.20 am for our 3 day trip through the red centre. And who was that guide who came walking towards the hostel early in the morning when it was still dark and hard to make things out? Benchy!!!
Alice Springs is the well-known town (almost) in the middle of Australia. And it is almost as big and populated as my hometown Erkelenz 😀
So much for that.
The moment I realized who our tour guide was I knew it would be a great trip.
Water! So much water! It is unbelievable unless you have seen it yourself.
I must admit I had never thought about Australia’s involvement in World War II before.
Broome is a nice little town, the only one you can call a city between Perth and Darwin.

This trip was simply awesome! I swam with huge mantarays and sharks and came closer to big stingrays than I had ever expected. I hiked, climbed and swam through the ancient gorges of Karijini like Lara Croft.
Saturday morning my friend Paula arrived, knocking on my door in the hostel.
We got some breakfast and ate it at the beach, then went back to the hostel and worked out what to do next.
