Autumn Lights – Brückenkopf-Park Jülich

An old fortress from the times of Napoleon defending a strategically important bridge which is now surrounded by a huge park, that is the Brückenkopfpark in Jülich we went to on this rather clear autumn night.
For about two weeks during fall it is nicely illuminated, a great chance to get some cool pics with my camera 🙂 Enjoy!

Schloss und Park Benrath

On what could possibly have been the last nice autumn day for this year my girlfriend and I visited the castle and park of Benrath near Düsseldorf.

It is a beautiful castle from the 18th century with a huge park similiar to Versailles.

Unfortunately we were not allowed to leave the bus for security reasons and the weather wasn’t the best. Still, I could take some photos to carry on the impressions of this day:

Tagebau Garzweiler – South Lookout

On the way home from my previous exploration we stopped by at the huge Garzweiler Surface Mine that is digging it’s way closer and closer towards my beloved hometown.
They’ve been digging for over 30 years and they will continue for another 30 years at least. They produce 35-45 million tons of lignite each year. The german Wikipedia page offers much more information, while I offer my photos here. It’s the first time I could make really good use of my zoom lense 🙂
