Finally, leaving Brisbane!
I cannot believe I already spent 2 weeks there.

I got up at 8, had breakfast, showered, then packed. At 10 Gina drove Sepp and me into the city and dropped us off at the transit centre.
It felt as I had arrived there yesterday, not knowing anything about Brisbane yet, navigating my self to the Yellow Submarine with Google Maps on my Android smartphone.
Anyway, I had to walk a few metres and waited for the OzExperience bus who arrived right on time. I was the only one to be picked up at this location, everybody else was picked up at the Base hostel in the city. Interestingly, only girls got on and I was the only guy in the bus.
About 60km out of Brisbane we had a stop for lunch at the feet of the Glasshouse mountains. Our bus driver told us the aboriginal story about a few lonely but very steep and high mountains, and afterwards gave us the real geological explanation. After the lunchbreak it was half an hour until we arrived in Mooloolaba, a stop on the route. Before dropping off 2 girls we were driven around and told background information about the area. It is really picturesque, but also quite similar to the Gold Coast. After all, it’s the Sunshine Coast which is quite similar, just not as straight, which is good. So the 2 girls got out, a few more people got on and we continued the trip to Noosa.
Again, we were told background information about Noosa before we arrived at the central bus stop, where all the hostel buses were already waiting. I had booked the Noosa Backpackers resort in advance, so I picked my backpack from the OzEx and went straight onto the hostel’s courtesy shuttle.
A few minutes later I checked in :). In my room there was only one other guy from England.

I put down my luggage, called Nicole and went back on the courtesy shuttle to meet her at the bus stop. We walked down to Noosa Junction where I bought some groceries.
What a pity that I have to cook for myself again now. But then I don’t have to work my butt off anymore :D.
We walked around further and finally set down at the nearest beach, discussing travel plans for the following days.
And I ate TimTams! 🙂 Soooo good.

When I got back, 3 american girls had checked into my dorm. Not a big deal.

Tomorrow I will take a bus over to the Sunshine beach where Nicole is staying and then we will do a decent walk through the Noosa national park north of it. Should be good :).
And the day after tomorrow I’ll go surfing. My hostel offers free surfboard hire and that is the main reason why I chose it.
ReadU in 2 days! 🙂
