Today was a special day: I cuddled heaps of Kangaroos and Koalas at the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary in Brisbane, the world’s first and largest koala sanctuary with over 130 koalas.
We took the bus to the Sanctuary and entered, we had bought the tickets the day before.
First thing we saw was the Bird of Prey flight show, then we cuddled Kangaroos, watched Wombats and other australian animals, had lunch, fed and cuddled more Kangaroos and finally cuddled a Koala and had photos taken with it. We spent about 5 hours in the sanctuary. We were back in Brisbane around 4:30 pm and went into the Lipton tent at the WinterFestival for another free Chai Latte.
Behind us queued a few familiar faces without noticing us: Philipp, Karolina and Jan, 3 Germans that we got to know in Sydney. They didn’t notice us until I greeted them, and they looked quite surprised when realization hit them 😀
We talked for a while about the different things we had experienced since Sydney, before we all went back to our different hostels.
This was a great day with heaps of awesome photos. We could get so close to the Kangaroos and Wallabies (where I am now able to tell the difference), we could sit among them :).
