My alarm woke me at 6am and after the usual check-out procedure I left Airlie Beach with the OzEx bus at 7:15am.

We drove to Bowen, then Ayr, then Townsville. In Townsville most the people left and took the ferry to Magnetic Island. So did our driver.
In return, a few people came back with the ferry, and so did our new driver. I had to wait about half an hour outside the locked up bus before the journey continued to Mission Beach, where we arrived just on time at 3:30PM.

After 8 hours on the bus I checked in at Absolute Backpackers, a lovely backpackers resort. The hostel and Mission Beach in general are very relaxed, there’s not much going on in town. Therefore you can go ildwater rafting and skydiving – I will do the latter tomorrow :D.

So once checked-in and in my 4 bed dorm with 2 not very talkative american girls I finished my blogpost about the Whitsundays, then went shopping for groceries and finally checked out the beach. There is a Woolworth’s here just around the corner and the prices are standard, nothing to complain about. They also have the TimTams for $1.49 😀

The beach is nice, but the vegetation still shows heavy signs of the hurricane that destroyed half of Queensland earlier in the year.

This whole place is very laid back, very good to compensate the adrenalin rush that I’ll be facing tomorrow. Cya!
