After 9 days I still haven’t got my atm/bank card. Everyone else who opened their accounts at the same time have gotten their cards 2 days before.
So I asked Michele from Australian Backpackers whether I should be worried. She gave the bank a call with the following result:
“It seems your card got lost in the mail. It happens, welcome to Australia.”
I’m flattered ^^
She organized for a new one to be deposited at the branch office in Byron Bay, because I am leaving Sydney on Monday morning and not coming back. It should be ready for pick up on Thursday, I get there on Friday. Fingers crossed! I really need that stupid bank card as most of my money is already on that account.
