Exploring Sydney – Philipp's TravelBlog

I began the journey from Frankfurt along with Sabrina, at the airport in Sydney we met Maximilian.
There we were picked up and dropped off at the hostel around 8 am, where we met Alexandra.
The 4 of us, all german, share now a dorm together, and we get along quite well 🙂

Around 10 am we stopped by at the Australian Backpackers Lounge, where we have free WiFi internet access.
We then bought some drinks and food at Coles, I got some money at the ATM and after a short stop at our dorm we started a walk through Sydney.
Very important: I bought TimTams!!! 😀

We saw the Harbor Bridge and the Opera House and much more. Later we split up, Alex and I continued through the huge gardens while the other two made it back to the Hostel.

Right now I’m sitting at the Lounge again, writing thist post.
We’ll have a welcome talk with someone from Australian Backpackers at 6pm and probably go out afterwards.

Things to know:

right next to our hostel is a car store of – LAMBORGHINI! Several awesome cars are standing around there. I’m sure backpackers are excellent customers for Lambos 😀
alcohol is pretty damn expensive here! I guess I will have to reduce my beer consume 🙁
Australians here are not used to warm temperatures, only to hot ones. slightly below 20° Celsius and they start walking around in coats, scarf and gloves while I’m out in a t-shirt. Crazy!
